I wasn’t really sure what to expect with the LeapFrog Summer Camp, but most of the daily activities have been well-suited to Zoë’s interests. There are printable activity sheets, projects and crafts galore!
It’s a full 8-week program, and it’s free! You can’t beat that. If you still aren’t sure, here are some highlights from projects we have done so far.
Week 1′s Theme was Out & About.
During this week, campers learn about the people and places in our world on their way to becoming global citizens.
The week started out with printing a passport and talking about the places we visit every week in our neighborhood.
One of the activities we did together was the Famous Places Race. We got to talk about national landmarks, and coloring is always fun!
Another day, we got to learn how to read a map and play a game spotting Pandas!
Week 2′s Theme is Caring for Animals.
This week of LeapFrog activities is designed to inspire new experiences with animals and to consider themes of responsibility and compassion. Today is only the 2nd day of week 2, so I can’t wait to see what projects we get to do for the rest of the week!
Today’s project is Making a Birdhouse! I think this has been the girls’ favorite project so far. We need to go get some birdseed now!
We especially liked this project because it uses found objects. Since we live in the middle of a national forest, we were able to use lots of things around us to create our birdhouse. My kids always love a good hunt!
I really appreciate LeapFrog for putting together this Summer Camp program. It has been very helpful to have a daily activity laid out for me, so I can just pull up the LeapFrog site each day to see what’s in store for us!
You don’t have to do the activities in order either. Each Monday, the entire week’s projects are unlocked so you can choose to do that day’s activity or skip ahead depending upon the mood in your house!
