Easter Fun with the Girls

April 9, 2010 //  by Chrystal Johnson

It has been a long week, so Brian just got the video done of the girls from Easter. We had a really fun day. Next year will be even more fun when Kaylee is walking and her and Zoë can have an Easter Egg Hunt together.

As he explains in the video, we didn’t find any plastic eggs in Montevideo (nor did they have big displays of Easter baskets like in the US), so we had our Easter Egg hunt with peanut M&Ms. I think Zoë liked that a whole lot more than she would have liked finding hard boiled eggs!

In the evening we had some of our friends over for dinner – Brian made delicious homemade spaghetti and meatballs. The adults got to socialize and have a couple drinks (always a welcome change of pace) and the kids got to spend some time playing together and watching a movie.

Zoë, Billy and Bobby on Easter in Montevideo

Zoë absolutely loves Billy and Bobby. They left on Wednesday to go back to New Zealand for a couple of weeks and Zoë has been asking for them non-stop ever since.

They’re the first thing she asks for in the morning and the last thing she asks for at night. Unfortunately, she doesn’t understand the concept of time yet and when she wants something, she wants it now. Needless to say, she’ll be excited when they return.

You can also see in the video that Kaylee is getting bigger and is so expressive. She loves to smile and coo. She responds to our voices now and I’m looking forward to hearing her first giggle. I still remember the first time Zoë giggled. I was tickling her and it just came out. Oh, the precious moments you will never forget as a Mom.

On a less precious note, at the end of the video, you’ll see Brian asking Kaylee if she wants the “Boobie” and she responds excitedly. He did this same thing with Zoë when she was a baby and she was saying “Boo Boo” at six months and “Boobie” clear as day by nine months.

We’d be at the grocery store and all of a sudden she’d start screaming, “Boobie! Boobie! Boobie!” I foresee similar experiences in my future with Kaylee, thanks to her Daddy.

But what can you do, they’re adorable no matter what they do!
