Complete Exhaustion and Total Joy

October 1, 2010 //  by Chrystal Johnson

Having two young girls that are only 21 months apart has me completely exhausted. I can’t tell you the last time got 8 straight hours of sleep (even 4 would be nice). My morning coffee has become more than a ritual—most days it’s a necessity.

Zoë is typically up once or twice a night. Kaylee wakes up anywhere from 2 to 10 times a night. Luckily, they’re not usually up at the same time. Zoë is back to sleeping on the couch. So my nights are spent wandering back and forth between our bed and the couch, depending upon who’s awake at the moment.

Although I am constantly craving sleep, my days are filled with total joy. I watch Zoë and Kaylee together and I can’t imagine my life any other way. Every day they grow closer and it makes me so happy that we had them this close in age. I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Words really can’t describe the bond that has formed between them, so here are a few recent photos of them together that hopefully show it.
